Masculine BBQ Card

Posted by Jackie Hanks on 2nd Jul 2016

I've used the BBQ Time Outline Sticker Sheet and some BARC Wood Tape to create a fun masculine card today!

I created the sparkling images by doing some Copic coloring on Silk Microfine Glitter Paper. First you’ll need to burnish (a.k.a. rub) the glitter paper with your fingers to make it nice and smooth. Next, peel the outlines of the barbecue and apron, position them onto the glitter paper, and then press and burnish the stickers down with your fingers again.

I used three reds to color the barbecue: R59, R29, & R21. I started with the R59 (the darkest color) and added ink to the edges of the BBQ. Then I blended the R59 with the R29 towards the center of the image, leaving some white space in the middle. Last, I used R21 to blend and fill the white space in the center of the image.

The apron is colored with E50 & E84.The pockets and grill are colored with C3 & C9.

The card base is 5 1/2” x 4”, cut from kraft colored cardstock and folded as a portrait card. The black panel is 5 1/4” x 3 1/2”. At the bottom of the black panel I was able to trim and adhere some ARC Wood Tape (cherry & birch). This added the perfect masculine touch!

There are two white circles framing the BBQ elements on the card. There's a 3 1/2” circle is behind the elements.  I also cut another 3 1/2” circle, then took a 3” circle die and cut it from the middle to create a circle frame. This was adhered to the first circle using foam pop dots. I like the dimension it adds to the card!

Now the finishing touches! Adhere everything to the card, tie some black and white twine around the top in a bow, and add a sentiment! I love this sentiment... and it's one of a kind since I created it on my computer!
